Robo: a combining form extracted from robot and meaning “automated, automatic, or robotic,”
Gnosis: (Grk) Knowledge of a spiritual or mystic art
What is RoboGnosis?
RoboGnosis is a robotics autonomy integrator.
That is, do you need a robot, or need to know if you need a robot? Will it make your life easier or more difficult? Call us, we help you through the process of understanding what can and cannot be made more efficient through robotic automation. We take a problem and create a solution.
What is the difference between Autonomy and Automation?
A way to think about the difference between Autonomy and Automation may be this. In a car manufacturing company you might have many robotic arms that do assembly line work, that is, they do the same job over and over again – this would be Automation. However in the same company you could have a robot that runs around by itself and takes pictures of things based on certain criteria – that is, it searches out things based on criteria given to it – this would be autonomy.
What is your software?
We don’t technically create any software. We license software through our partners and combine it into stronger units to create a solution to a problem, challenge or opportunity. The only software created is in the custom linking of components and systems. Why create it when someone else already has? We only make it better by combining technologies with the right tools to create precise solutions.
What is your value?
We are the experts that know how to combine technologies for autonomous efforts.
How autonomous can you make a bot?
How autonomous do you need it to be? At this stage of development the technology exceeds capability in most areas. However, more autonomy often requires bigger and better tools and more time for development.
Where are the current pain points that businesses are engaging you in?
Most often it is either in industries where there is no basis for autonomy or in industries where increasing demands on the workforce are shrinking margins to the point where a business may need to close its doors if not moving to an autonomous solution in some areas.
What about the people that your technology displaces?
This is always going to be a concern. At RoboGnosis our concern is for people first and robots second. Therefore if we can help a small operation of 40 workers stay in business but 10 of those workers are displaced then 30 people keep their jobs. We would call that a win.
But what about the displaced workers?
RoboGnosis is currently in talks with a leading online technical school and multiple state offices to retrain those displaced workers and find them better jobs than they already have. We will establish this as a service through RoboGnosis that will be funding through both private and public sources so there would be no cost to the worker. Again, people first, robots second. Upon implementation RoboGnosis will have a zero sum impact on job loss.
Where can I see it in action?
We are working in collaboration with multiple partners on multiple products at the moment – each requiring different levels of autonomy in different industries. If you would like to see something in action, please send us a note or give us a call so we can determine what you might want to see based on your needs.
